When is the next Apple launch event and what will be launched?

When is the next Apple iPhone, iPad, iOS or Macbook launch event, what new products will Apple launch and how can I watch the Apple event live? Here's all you need to know about the most recent events and what Apple is set to launch at the end of 2016 and in 2017.
We're approaching the end of 2016, and it looks like Apple is done with product launches for the year. We've just had a Macbook Pro laptop refresh, and of course the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, so plenty for Apple fans to splash their cash on.
However, we're already hearing rumours about the next Apple launch, set to take place in spring 2017, where we'll likely see the next generation of iPad. And in 2017 we'll also see the next iPhone, possibly to be dubbed the iPhone 8. Finally there's Apple's WWDC 2017 conference, the stage for iOS 11 to be officially unveiled.
Here's all you need to know about Apple's upcoming launch events.

What did Apple just launch?

On September 7 2016 we had Apple's annual iPhone launch, where the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were finally revealed. Check out our huge iPhone comparison guide to see how the new 7 and 7 Plus stack up against older iPhones, and whether it's worth upgrading.
We also had our first glimpse of the Apple Watch 2, Apple's all-new updated wearable. The Watch 2 boasts new features like built-in GPS and a fresh new water-resistant design, making it a worthy upgrade even for existing Watch owners.
A few weeks later on October 27, Apple also launched its latest Macbook Pro. This souped-up new performance laptop packs updated specs and a lighter, thinner frame, as well as loads of new features. The stand-out feature is definitely the Touch Bar, complete with Touch ID fingerprint sensor, which adds a new level of control to the Pro.

When and where is the next Apple launch happening?

The next Apple launch event will likely take place in spring 2017, in Cupertino, California. This is mere speculation right now, however; there has been no official confirmation from Apple of its next launch event.

When will Apple launch a new Macbook Air or Macbook Pro?

Apple unveiled its latest Macbook Pro on October 27, 2016. This super-powered laptop boasts top-end specs, powerful graphics processing and some really cool new features like the Touch Bar control panel and Touch ID sensor. You once again have a choice of sizes too, between 13 and 15-inches.
Because of Apple's update, chances are the Macbook Pro won't be upgraded again for at least a year. Perhaps at the end of 2017 we'll see a new Macbook Pro launched.
The Macbook Air hasn't received an update for a while, however - since early 2015. Therefore we might well see a new Macbook Air in early 2017, hopefully with the Touch Bar in place.

When will Apple launch new iPads?

Apple's last iPad launch was the reveal of the iPad Pro 9.7, back in March 2016. Which means we're likely to see some fresh new Apple tablets launched in early 2017.
We haven't seen a new iPad Air or iPad Mini since the end of 2015, and it's now looking like those ranges are being killed off completely. Both are most likely going to be replaced with iPad Pro tablets instead, with three new iPad Pros revealed at Apple's next launch event.
This will include a new 12.9-inch model, a 10.1-inch model (to replace the current 9.7-incher) and a fresh new 7.9-inch model called the iPad Pro Mini. If these rumours are on the money, the Pro Mini will likely mean the death of the standard iPad Mini.
You can expect to see the new iPads launched by Apple around March 2017.

When will Apple launch a new iPhone?

The next iPhone launch will probably reveal the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, or the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. You can expect Apple to launch its next iPhone in Autumn 2017, more specifically around September of next year. So if you're thinking of upgrading to the iPhone 7, you don't have to worry about it being obsolete or out of date any time soon.
Of course, we reckon you should only upgrade to the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus if you haven't got an Apple phone from the last couple of years. But that's a whole other debate.

How can I live stream the next Apple launch event?

You can watch Apple's launch events live on your Apple TV, or by heading to the Apple Events page on its website. Bear in mind that if you visit the website, you'll need to do so using Apple's Safari browser. The likes of Google Chrome won't work.

How can I watch Apple events like the iPhone 7 launch after they have finished?

Apple keeps videos of its recent launch events and keynotes on the Events page of its website. Just browse there using Safari and you can watch them in full.

What will Apple launch in 2017?

Well, we're likely to see those three new iPad Pro tablets, a new Macbook Air and of course the iPhone 7s (or iPhone 8). And in June 2017, Apple will kick off WWDC 2017, where we'll catch out first glimpse of iOS 11. Join us then for all you need to know!
